The church was built in eighteen forty-eight, a monument of architecture of the late classicism.
A first catholic temple was built in Vaŭkavysk as early as in fourteen thirty by the Grand Duke of Lithuania Vitaŭt. But it was ruined in the seventeenth century. In eighteen forty-six at the initiative of the priest Jan Lienikoŭski building of a new temple began there at the expense of local inhabitants. Restoration of the church was carried out in nineteen thirties when Vaŭkavysk was within Second Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. Two towers were overbuilt on each side of the attic. An enclosure with gate was erected around the temple. Inside, the temple is divided into three naves. The central altar is emphasized by four uprights decorated by a sculpture and stucco work. Interesting that in Soviet times the temple wasn't closed.
