This temple is an only survived church from thirteen churches and three cloisters of the ancient city.

Saint Michael’s Cathedral is a monument of wooden architecture of the eighteenth — nineteenth centuries, built in traditions of folk architecture with elements of baroque and late classicism. Primary the temple existed under the name of Church of Constantine in Old city. In the end of the eighteenth century it was moved to a suburb Vostraŭ and put at the site of St. Michael Church ruined in seventeen ninety-five. In seventeen ninety-eight Church of Constantine was renamed in honor of Archangel Michael. First it was of two log constructions, it consisted of a main extent and altar apsis, in the end of the nineteenth century a tower-campanile was built on from west of the main extent. In nineteen nineties the church was awarded the status of cathedral.
